Estimated value range
$0

This is an automated estimate based on typical earnings multiples for your industry and is not a certified business appraisal. Many factors affect real value. For a precise, defensible figure, request an advisor-led business valuation.

    How it works

    How the estimate is calculated

Most owner-operated businesses sell for a multiple of their annual earnings (EBITDA or seller's discretionary earnings). This tool applies a typical range of multiples for your industry, then adjusts for your growth trend and track record. A real valuation goes deeper, which is where our valuation service comes in.

    Earnings multiple

We start from a realistic multiple range for your sector and apply it to your profit.

    Growth & risk

Strong, consistent growth lifts the range; decline or heavy owner dependence lowers it.

    Advisor review

An advisor refines the estimate with your real financials and market comparables.

    Questions

    Valuation calculator FAQ

    How accurate is this calculator?

It gives a reasonable ballpark range based on industry earnings multiples, but it cannot see the details that move real value, such as customer concentration, owner dependence or recurring revenue. Treat it as a starting point, then request a full business valuation.

    What is EBITDA or SDE?

EBITDA is earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. SDE (seller's discretionary earnings) adds back the owner's salary and perks. For most small businesses, SDE is the figure buyers focus on.

Why is the result a range and not one number?

Because real value depends on factors a quick form cannot capture. An honest estimate is a range. We narrow it to a defensible figure during a full valuation.

What should I do with my estimate?

If you are considering a sale, use it to start a conversation. Request an advisor-reviewed valuation, then explore exit planning or selling your business.
